Botany Bay has come up with another combination of herbs while keeping its tradition of three herb combination. All three herbs work synergistically to control obesity and its side effects.
- Lepedium sativum; Also called halon or chandrashoor commonly is a variety of sarson belonging to family cruciferae which is recognized as plant good cholesterol. I t also contains Alpha-linolenic acid or omega 3 fatty acid is substantial quantity absent commonly in our diet nowdays. It contains balanced ratio of Monounsaturated fatty acids and Polyunsaturated fatty acids. It is also a good source of vit A, C, B6, Iron,calcium and magnesium. I ts pharmacologically antihypertensive, anti-inflammatory, anticoagulant, anti-rheumatic, diuretic. It delays the absorption of fats from intestines and excret through faeces hence invaluable in obesity.
- Cissus quadrangularis; Commonly called Hadjod used for bone setting during fractures but its anti-obesity potential is unexplored. It inhibits enzymes like lipase, alpha-amylase and alpha glucosidase hence delaying absorption of both fats and sugars hence very useful in obesity and fitness as imparts strength to skeleton. It is great antioxidant, anti helminthic,antibacterial and analgesic. It is high in flavonoids and vit C and important phytochemicals like resveratrol, quercetin and stillbenoids. All are proven anti-obesity phytochemicals.
- Aegle marmelos; Commonly called Baelpatra is considered sacred plant by hindus. It contains many phytochemicals such as Rutin, gallic acid, quercetin, umbelliferone, esculentin responsible for anti-obesity effects. Its other properties include antidepressant, antianxiety, anti-inflammatory and antioxidant.
Dose– 1 cap. Twice or thrice a day after meals with warm water or as directed by the physician.
